About Nevis
Nevis is renowned for its beautiful mountain landscape; the island is dominated by Nevis Peak, which rises to a height of 3,232 feet in the center of the island. From the peak to the pristine blue waters, the island is blessed with an un-spoilt lush rainforest filled with vervet green monkeys and miles of spectacular palm-fringed golden-sand beaches.
Nevis is home to the Five-Diamond Four Season Resort, many Historic Plantation Inns and a variety of exotic vacation Condos. The average air temperature is 79° F (26° C) and the humidity is very low. This is the ideal tropical environment for attracting vacationers and business tycoons alike.
Nevis affectionately called “Queen of the Caribbean” is a 36 square mile (93 square kilometers) paradise located in the Caribbean Sea with a population of approximately 12,000 inhabitants. The island is 200 miles Southeast of Puerto Rico (1hr flight time), 1,000 miles South of Miami (3 hrs flight time), 1,700 miles from New York (4 hours flight time), 2,500 miles from Toronto (5 hours flight time) and 4,000 miles from London (8 hours flight time).
The name “Queen of the Caribbean” did not come by chance. Nevis stands out as a leader in many respects: the home of the first hotel in the Caribbean, the home of the first church in the Caribbean, the birth place of the first US Secretary of Treasury and the only island in the Caribbean that is part of a twin Federation.
